The spin machine is starting to turn. The well placed stories in the media are starting to percolate to the surface now and in strange key locations (including this blog perhaps) the made up stories are starting to be retold and made real…
It sounds like a bit out of a mystery novel by perhaps, say, Dan Brown.
Well, with no stone left unturned, Why not retell the tale so the myth can become legend.
It would seem from a recent article in the Seacoast On line, that an exasperated publicist for Dan Brown, on the subject of his, very late, forthcoming novel has declared that the title “Solomon’s Key” is so out of date…
As if.
Its not like the Masonic community hasn’t written everything there is to write under the sun about Freemasonry, tis secrets, the potential meaning of what Solomon’s Builders “might” mean, or the possible secret places… And forget about the non Masonic writers pool and their contribution to the dirth of “possible” meanings that they pull together.
What were we talking about again, oh yeah, the Dan Brown book that hasn’t come out yet, on the subject that is or isn’t about Freemasonry…
Is it possible that the literary Brown fan club has written themselves right out of his next book and Brown’s just chucked the idea all together?
According to his publicist, they may have:
During a conversation (with a British Journalist) about the book, which the journalist repeatedly called “The Solomon Key,” Brown’s rep seemed to get exasperated and stopped her:
“You are using a title that was used several years ago. That is completely out of date.”
The rep also dismissed the ET story, the journalist said, repeating that Brown had not finished the book.
The last part was about a quote taken from Ron Howard on February of 08 while shooting the new FILM slated for release this may. Howard had said:
…that Brown had not only finished his next book, he was excited about it. That started a whole new slew of speculation about the release date.
Or, is it just more media hype to infiltrate sites like this to help stir the silt of our memory that there really is this mysterious book coming on the horizon…
Is it me, or is the mystery of when this book is coming out starting to feel like a Brown plot line?
I’m sure the real story will garner its own “Secrets of the some day to be released Solomon’s Key“. Until then, we’ll just keep twisting the cryptix.
*editors note, why I called it “Solomon’s Buildres” and not “Solomon’s Key” confounds me.
Bill Bradford says
I’ve always heard that the title will be “The Solomon Key”; have never heard anything saying that the title would be “Solomon’s Builders”.
Jennifer Emick says
Yeah, I’ve never heard differently…maybe Dan needs a new publicist?
E.J. says
AHHH GUYS the online pagan store on your website? Is that always their? Thats just giving the conspiracy & religious nuts ammo. Although it is funny!!
Dean Kennedy says
EJ… I’m not quite sure I follow what your talking about? What Pagan store are you looking at? We have a Gift Shop with masonic items in it? No pagan stuff that I’m aware of though. Help me out here…
Chris Hodapp says
I am just as eager as anyone to see Brown’s new book come out, and for a wide variety of personal, fraternal and professional reasons, I hope like hell it is about the Masons. But the rumored title of “The Da Vinci Code” sequel has always been “The Solomon Key.” I do, however, appreciate the unintended confusion with my own book, “Solomon’s Builders.” Feel free to purchase 60 million copies by mistake.
